| FNCP CARRIES OUT EDUCATIONAL ACTION TO THE CITIZEN, DISTRIBUTING LEAFLETS DURING “OPERAÇÃO TORNADO” IN SÃO PAULO |

The National Forum Against Piracy and Counterfeiting (FNCP) provided educational content to the citizen during “Operação Tornado”, carried out by the Federal Revenue, State Revenue, Military and Civil Police in places where pirate products are present.

The action consisted in the distribution of informative leaflets about the damages caused by piracy in front of the places where they were being inspected. During the distribution of the leaflets, an actress dressed up as a pirate, entertained the passer bys.
Besides that, FNCP carried out, in Avenida Paulista, from December 19 to 21, 2006 a research about pirate products purchasing with people who were passing in front of places which are known by selling pirate products.

The research revealed that 91,3% of the interviewed people acquired at least one pirate product in 2006 and 67,5% said they frequently acquire pirate CDs and DVDs. Also 9,5% of the people acquire computing supplies. More details regarding the results of the research may be directly requested to the Forum.
